Trader Joe’s has added yet another colorful tote to its ever-growing collection.
The California-based grocer released a lime-green version of its 8-gallon insulated tote bag at the top of the month, and fans are already raving.
“Oh my GOD this is stunning,” a Reddit user wrote in the comments of an Aug. 5 post. “I have the Emerald green one and thought that was going to be as good as it gets for green bags … eek! Hope my store in the Seattle area has it when I go tomorrow!”
Another added: “WHAT?!? I can’t hear you over that color!”
Trader Joe’s New Bag Is a Limited-Time Summer Release
The latest drop comes nearly a month after the chain told USA TODAY that it was “working on a new plan” for its next tote bag release. “We had a plan, shared it with our Crew Members, and the plan changed,” Rohde told the Asbury Park Press, part of the USA TODAY Network.
Dubbed the “Lime Green Insulated Bag,” the “lovely, electrifying” new addition will be around “just for the summer,” a detail confirmed by Trader Joe’s public relations manager Nakia Rohde.
“We plan to have this color in stores for a couple of months,” Rohde said. “It is a limited-time product; customers should inquire with Crew at their neighborhood Trader Joe’s store if they have questions about any product’s availability.”
Why Trader Joe’s Totes Keep Drawing Crowds
The hype surrounding Trader Joe’s totes dates back to March 2024, when the accessory became so popular that customers waited in long lines and sometimes fought each other to get their hands on them.
Trader Joe’s dropped a “new” version of the bag every couple of months in just about every shade or size you could think of. Customers are still snapping them up almost as quickly as Trader Joe’s can stock them.
The online chatter about the bags themselves hasn’t died down either; whether a new version has been spotted or a specific location has restocked the bag, fans continue to track the releases.
