Taco Bell’s New Dessert Taco Has Churro-Flavored Ice Cream

News RoomBy News RoomSeptember 1, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

The menu at Taco Bell just got a lot cooler because the ice cream taco is back, but only for a limited time.

Ice cream tacos have been a hit for the Mexican-inspired fast-food chain and Portland, Oregon-founded ice cream company Salt & Straw. Last year, they teamed up on the Tacolate, a waffle cone taco shell filled with cinnamon ancho chili ice cream, dipped in chocolate and topped with toasted brown rice. But the treat was only available at Salt & Straw stores.

This year’s treat, the Salt & Straw Churro Ice Cream Taco ($3.99), is available at Taco Bell locations nationwide for a limited time.

Taco Bell and Salt & Straw have also collaborated on the Salt & Straw Choco-Waffle Chiller ($4.69), a blended frozen drink inspired by the Ice Cream Taco. It is available only at Live Más Café menus in California, Las Vegas, Houston and Dallas, while supplies last.

Salt & Straw created a new Churro Ice Cream to fill the ice cream taco’s crispy waffle cone shell, which is finished with puffed rice and a dark chocolate-flavored coating.

“We knew Tacolate was special, but the response completely blew us away — and our guests made it clear they wanted it to stick around,” said Tyler Malek, co-founder and head ice cream maker at Salt & Straw, in a news release. “So when we had the chance to take the idea beyond our shops with Taco Bell, we wanted to dream up something completely new. The Churro Ice Cream Taco brings together what both brands do best, and we’re so excited for people across the country to finally get their hands on one.”

How to Win Taco Bell Ice Cream Tacos

Members of the Taco Bell Rewards loyalty program can enter to win one of 100 limited-edition Salt & Straw x Taco Bell Igloo Playmate Coolers. Each cooler comes with three ice cream tacos and additional merchandise inspired by the partnership.

The sweepstakes opens Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT) and closes at 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. PT).

The original Cinnamon Ancho Tacolate is available year-round at all Salt & Straw shops and through Salt & Straw’s website, which offers nationwide shipping.
