Walmart Stores in Texas Targeted for Upgrades. Which US Stores Are Next?

Communities across Texas are about to see a major upgrade at their local Walmarts this year.

The company announced in April that it would reinvest in 72 stores across Texas to modernize them through initiatives to enhance Texans’ in-store and online shopping experiences.

“We’re proud to work and serve customers across Texas, and our continued investment reflects how deeply we believe in this state and its communities,” said Elise Vasquez-Warner, senior vice president for the Southwest Business Unit, Walmart U.S. “From modernizing our stores to enhancing the overall shopping experience, everything we do is about better serving our customers and supporting the associates who make it happen.”

Some of those initiatives will upgrade store layouts and expand services, including free pharmacy delivery for Walmart+ members, including GLP-1. The company will also expand its store-based app to help customers navigate through stores, book services at Walmart’s Auto Care Center, and more.

According to the company, this is part of Walmart’s plan to remodel 650 supercenters and Neighborhood Markets this year.
