Demi Moore, 63, says her ‘life-changing’ nighttime routine helps her wind down

News RoomBy News RoomApril 22, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Demi Moore, 63, says a big part of her wellness routine is about how she winds down at night.

Speaking to Elle in an interview published Tuesday, “The Substance” star said she relies on a few daily habits to help her feel her best.

“I start my days with meditation and being present. I love journaling as well. Then I like to get my body moving and get the blood flowing. I also prioritize hydration and sleep,” Moore said, adding that what she puts in her body and on her skin really matters to her.

She’s also learned that how she winds down at the end of the day can make a noticeable difference.

“I’ve become very intentional about my evening routine. Taking the time to truly transition from the chaos of the day into a state of rest has been life-changing, and part of that is doing my skin care,” Moore said.

After all, small, consistent acts of self-care can go a long way, she said.

With age, Moore said she’s become less hard on herself and more focused on her own well-being.

“When I was younger, I was really trying to figure out who I was, and that can lead you in many directions. But now, learning to focus on longevity and health, there’s no room for judgment because you’re working toward a goal of strength and vitality,” Moore said.

It’s helped her grow more comfortable with who she is. “And there’s no one better to be than you,” she added.

Moore said she’s come to see new beginnings a little differently at this stage in her life.

“I’ve really come to love the word ‘reset.’ I appreciate the journey that I’ve been on, but sometimes you do feel like you want to reset, in a way,” Moore said. “I really believe in the power of choice, so it’s not about starting over; it’s about choosing a new path, a new direction for yourself and your future, at any stage of your life.”

It’s not the first time Moore has opened up about her wellness habits, particularly her diet.

In an April 2025 interview with People, the actor said she eats eggs, avoids meat, and focuses on “nutrient-dense” foods. Still, she allows herself the occasional indulgence.

“I mean, I’m not perfect. I still do drink Red Bull. I do love it. But not many. One,” Moore said.

She is also not the only celebrity who has opened up about her nighttime routine.

Hilary Swank told Business Insider in 2024 that she always makes time for skincare before going to bed because she “could never go to sleep with a dirty face.”

Keke Palmer told Business Insider in May that she always falls asleep to a sitcom like “Girlfriends” or “Gilmore Girls,” or another kind of comfort show.

Earlier this month, Jane Seymour, 75, told Business Insider that she avoids sleep anxiety by having a notepad within reach.
