How to Claim Your Share

The deadline to file a claim for part of a $50 million settlement from The Walt Disney Company is Sept. 8, 2026, for people who subscribed to YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream over the past several years.

The settlement stems from a 2022 federal class-action complaint filed by YouTube TV subscribers. The lawsuit alleged that Disney’s control over popular channels and programming gave the company outsized influence over the live-TV streaming market.

Disney’s agreements with streamers required providers to include ESPN in their base packages. The lawsuit alleged that those agreements gave Disney significant leverage over streaming-bundle prices, limited competitors’ ability to offer lower-cost alternatives and contributed to higher prices for consumers.

Disney denied the allegations and agreed to settle the case without admitting liability or wrongdoing.

Here’s what you need to know to file a claim as the deadline approaches.

How Can You Claim Your Share of the Settlement?

The proposed settlement, which requires final court approval, allows eligible consumers to submit a claim for a portion of the fund if they paid for YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream from April 1, 2019, through March 31, 2026.

Eligible individuals can submit claims online or by mail. To submit by mail, fill out a claim form and mail it to: Biddle v. Disney, Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 4720, Portland, OR 97208-4720.

How Much Will You Get From the Disney Settlement?

The amount a claimant will receive has not been determined as of Sept. 8, 2026.

Payments would be distributed after a final approval hearing scheduled for Jan. 14, 2027. If approved, claimants would receive varying amounts depending on subscription length and the total number of approved claims.
