The average monthly payment for a brand-new car is around $770, according to NerdWallet. Drivers who want a new vehicle without committing to long-term ownership can lease cars, trucks, SUVs and vans.

There are plenty of affordable lease deals on some of the best new sedans and coupes on the market. Here’s what to know about the best car lease deals of August 2026.

You Can Lease a Hyundai Elantra for $179 a Month

The 2026 Hyundai Elantra is a compact car that’s known for its attractive pricing and fuel economy. It’s a value-oriented model that competes in an ultra-competitive segment against the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.

Hyundai’s small car uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to produce 147 horsepower. It achieves 31 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway.

You can lease a new Elantra for $179 a month for 36 months with $3,979 due at signing, according to U.S. News & World Report. That works out to $10,423 for three years. Hyundai’s sedan is a great choice for teen drivers, first-time car owners and budget-conscious drivers.

The Toyota Corolla Is a Great Cheap Sedan Lease Deal

Toyota’s Corolla is the quintessential small car for many American drivers. It’s practical for commuters and it doesn’t break the bank.

It uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to produce 169 horsepower, and earns 32 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway.

Drivers can lease the 2026 Toyota Corolla for $179 a month for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing. That works out to $10,443 over three years.

The Toyota Corolla is a great lease deal because it’s efficient and comes with plenty of safety features. Furthermore, the nameplate has a history of reliability, so leasing it can give you a glimpse into what ownership would be like.

You Can Lease a Ford Mustang for $399 a Month

The Ford Mustang is an iconic American muscle car. It’s incredibly fun to drive, has great handling and is one of the best new affordable sports cars.

You can lease a 2026 Ford Mustang for $399 a month for 36 months with $898 due at signing on the EcoBoost configuration. That works out to $15,262 for three years.

The Mustang uses a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost engine to produce a mighty 315 horsepower. It achieves 22 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to own a Mustang but don’t find the sports car to be practical or affordable enough for long-term ownership, this is a great lease deal. Ford’s muscle car provides a unique driving experience that thousands of driving enthusiasts appreciate.
