Hayete Gallot, Google Cloud’s president of customer experience, is leaving the company, Business Insider has learned.
Google Cloud’s chief revenue officer Matt Renner announced the news on Tuesday in a memo to staff, which was seen by Business Insider.
Renner said Gallot was leaving to “pursue a new opportunity externally” and that Tuesday was her last day at Google. Renner said that Gallot’s reports would report to him in the interim to “ensure a seamless transition and continued momentum.”
Gallot joined Google last April to spearhead a new division focused on helping customers and businesses adopt the company’s cloud products, including its AI offerings. The group absorbed several other teams inside Cloud at a critical time for Google, which has been aggressively courting businesses with its AI products.
She joined from Microsoft, where she was a corporate vice president overseeing the go-to-market plan for its commercial segment.
Gallot’s departure this week confused some staff inside Google Cloud who were surprised to see her leave after less than a year at the company, two employees told Business Insider. A spokesperson confirmed Gallot was leaving the company, but did not share more on the reasons for her departure. Gallot could not immediately be reached for comment.
“We have made incredible progress in evolving our GTM organization to meet the unique moment we have with our customers, our partners and across the industry,” Renner wrote in the Tuesday memo.
