  • On Sunday, celebrities attended the 83rd annual Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
  • Some stars’ red carpet looks were more successful than others.
  • Walton Goggins and Jennifer Lopez missed the mark with their outfits.

Any true Golden Globes fan will tell you that the fashion is half the fun of the night.

It’s always exciting to see what outfits A-list stars arrive in, and the 2026 Golden Globes, held at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday, were no exception.

However, as is usually the case, some celebrities didn’t wear their best red-carpet looks. Take a look at some of the outfits that missed the mark at this year’s Golden Globes.

Kevin O’Leary over-accessorized.

O’Leary, who starred in the nominated film “Marty Supreme,” walked the Golden Globes red carpet in a burgundy suit that was sharp in color and style. Still, his accessories distracted from the look.

He wore a diamond necklace with a ruby charm, a matching pin on his lapel, and two statement watches: a Cartier Asymรฉtrique and a Chronomรจtre ร  Rรฉsonance from F.P. Journe. He could’ve gone without one of the timepieces.

Brittany Snow’s gown could have benefited from more structure.

The star of “Hunting Wives” and “The Beast in Me” wore a strapless, shapeless design by Danielle Frankel.

The top half of the white dress might have worked if it had flowed into a straight skirt. Instead, it featured a wide hem with a satin panel that looked out of place.

Ginnifer Goodwin missed the mark with her gray gown.

The “Zootopia” voice actor walked the red carpet in a gray Armani gown adorned with pearls. It was also semi-sheer with long sleeves and a floor-length skirt.

The dress was unfortunately overwhelming on the petite star. It also might have looked more glamorous if it were opaque instead of transparent.

Chris Perfetti’s suit was missing one simple element.

Perfetti, known for his work on “Abbott Elementary,” hit the red carpet in a blue suit crafted from satin by Christian Cowan.

His jacket was especially noteworthy, as it featured no buttons and was held together by a silver rose, but that detail made for a confusing illusion. Without buttons, the top half of his outfit looked incomplete.

A different neckline could have made all the difference in Leighton Meester’s look.

Meester, who guest-starred in the Golden Globe-nominated series “Nobody Wants This,” arrived at the awards show in a strapless Miu Miu gown. Yellow, silky fabric lined the neckline, while the rest of the form-fitting dress was pink and adorned with three-dimensional embellishments that shimmered as she walked the red carpet. Kendra Scott jewelry completed the ensemble.

Most of the dress was beautiful, but the pop of yellow distracted from the detailed beading that made the gown feel special. If the neckline had been made of the same fabric as the rest of the gown, Meester would have been one of the best-dressed stars of the night.

Jenna Ortega’s black gown was busy with textured fabric and daring cutouts.

Ortega arrived in an all-black look designed by Dilara Findikoglu, which felt like a fun nod to her Golden Globe-nominated performance in “Wednesday.”

The embellished top featured a high neckline, tassels of fabric that cascaded down her arms, and daring cutouts on the sides that flowed into a backless silhouette. The low-waisted skirt had a subtle train, and Ortega paired the look with Simone Jewels and Christian Louboutin boots.

The dress had pretty elements, but it had too much going on. If it had the cutouts without so much texture, the daring silhouette could have spoken for itself.

Walton Goggins’ shirt drew attention away from the rest of his outfit.

Goggins’ black jacket and pants could have been the trappings of a simple suit, but instead, he paired them with a sparkly gold blouse and a Western-style black tie.

The Saint Laurent look was funky, but the shirt almost looked costume-like because of how sparkly it was. Goggins, who was nominated for best supporting actor for “The White Lotus” at the 2026 Golden Globes, could have swapped the shirt for something more neutral with gold detailing so it felt less over the top.

Amy Poehler’s jumpsuit might have worked better if it were tailored differently.

Poehler, who won the best podcast award for “Good Hang with Amy Poehler,” chose a jumpsuit for the Golden Globes. The top was white and had short sleeves, while the pants were black and flared. Jewelry custom-designed by Pandora, along with a red clutch, completed her look.

Although the outfit stood out in a sea of gowns, it could have benefited from some tweaks. It may have worked better if it had been fitted at the waist or if it had more drama, which would have made it feel more formal for the event.

Pamela Anderson’s outfit was a bit too casual for the Golden Globes.

The star of “The Naked Gun,” who presented at the 2026 Golden Globes, wore all-white to the event, pairing a billowing, long-sleeved blouse that had flared cuffs with a column skirt. She showed off her diamond necklaces and sparkly hoop earrings with a sophisticated updo.

The top of Anderson’s outfit looked a bit too casual for the awards ceremony. A more formal top could have made the outfit stand out more.

Jennifer Lopez’s figure-hugging gown had too much going on.

The “Kiss of the Spider Woman” star walked the Golden Globes red carpet in a figure-hugging gown that was almost entirely sheer. Brown, floral detailing adorned the high-neck gown, and it flowed into a mermaid skirt made of fluffy tulle fabric.

The combination of the dramatic tulle at the bottom and the sheer fabric was a bit too much. It may have been more successful with a simpler skirt.
