Amazon Is Giving Away Free Groceries for a Year — Here’s How to Enter

News RoomBy News RoomJune 4, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Are the skyrocketing costs of groceries putting a strain on your budget? Amazon just announced the return of their four-day Prime Day event — happening June 23 through June 26 — and they’re kicking things off with a major giveaway.

From now through Monday, June 22, customers who spend $15 or more on qualifying online grocery orders on Amazon will automatically be entered for a chance to win free groceries for an entire year. Amazon is also rolling out summer deals on BBQ favorites starting at just $3, plus seasonal treats like $1 red cherries, $1 hot dogs and buns and sweet corn priced at 4-for-$1.

What Is Amazon’s Free Groceries for a Year Sweepstakes?

Amazon’s “Free Groceries for a Year” sweepstakes is a promotional giveaway launched to celebrate the return of Prime Day. To help shoppers combat inflation, Amazon is giving away a total of $1 million in prizes split among 100 randomly selected winners. Each winner receives a grand prize of $10,000 in Amazon.com gift cards, which can be spent on everyday household essentials and food through Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market and select local marketplace retailers. The entry window runs from June 2 through June 22.

What Counts as a Qualifying Grocery Order?

Qualifying orders include online purchases of $15 or more made through Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, Amazon Now or participating local retailers on the Amazon online marketplace.

How Much Money Do You Get if You Win?

Amazon is awarding 100 total winners a grand prize of $10,000 each, distributed as Amazon.com gift cards. This averages out to roughly $833 per month to spend on groceries and everyday household essentials.

Does Shopping Multiple Times a Day Give You More Entries?

No. Entry is capped at one per day, regardless of how many separate $15+ grocery orders you place in a single 24-hour period. However, entries roll over weekly, so entering once a day from June 2 through June 22 maximizes your chances across the three separate drawing periods.

When Are Winners Announced?

Winners are drawn and announced weekly in the lead-up to the event. The sweepstakes is split into three separate weekly drawing periods between June 2 and June 22. Non-winning entries automatically roll over into the next drawing period.

Can You Enter Without Making a Purchase?

Yes. You do not need to make a purchase or even have a Prime membership to enter. You can manually enter daily by logging into your Amazon account and using the “Click to Enroll for Free” button on the official offer page, or by opting into Amazon grocery text alerts.

Do You Have to Be a Prime Member to Win?

No. While the upcoming Prime Day sales event from June 23–26 is exclusively for Prime members, the “Free Groceries for a Year” sweepstakes is open to anyone with a standard Amazon account. No active Prime subscription or purchase is required if you enter manually.

When Is Amazon Prime Day 2026?

Amazon confirmed that Prime Day will take place from Tuesday, June 23 through Friday, June 26.

What Kinds of Deals Can You Expect on Prime Day?

Amazon Prime Day typically features discounts across nearly every category, including:

  • Tech: Laptops, headphones, smart TVs and tablets
  • Amazon devices: Echo speakers, Fire TVs, Kindles and Ring products
  • Home and outdoor: Gardening tools, lawn equipment, bedding and storage
  • Beauty and fashion: Skincare, hair tools and everyday basics

Do You Need a Prime Membership to Shop on Prime Day?

Yes. Amazon Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime members. A Prime membership includes free two-day (and often same-day) shipping, access to Prime Video and Prime Music, and early access to Prime Day deals.

If you’re not currently a member, Amazon typically offers free trials and discounted memberships ahead of Prime Day:

  • Amazon Prime for Young Adults: Ages 18–24 can get a six-month free trial, then $7.49 per month.
  • Prime Access: If you receive SNAP, EBT, Medicaid or other qualifying government aid, you may be eligible for a discounted Prime membership.
