Dairy Queen wants to jump-start spring with free ice cream.
The fast-food ice cream and burger chain has celebrated the changing of the seasons with a Free Cone Day since 2015 by giving out free vanilla soft-serve cones. This year’s giveaway is on Thursday, March 19, the day before the arrival of spring on Friday, March 20.
Dairy Queen is also giving one customer the opportunity to win free cones for an entire year. For a chance to win, download the DQ App and sign up for the DQ Rewards loyalty program.
“Free Cone Day is all about celebrating the simple joys — warmer weather, a classic vanilla cone and the happiness that comes from sharing a smile,” Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at American Dairy Queen Corp, said in a news release. “There’s something truly special about seeing people light up over a free cone, and this year, we’re excited to give away more cones and create more happy moments for our fans than ever before.”

How to Get a Free Cone at Dairy Queen
Visit a participating non-mall Dairy Queen on Thursday, March 19 to get a free small vanilla soft-serve cone — no purchase required, while supplies last (one per person). The offer is not good on delivery or mobile orders.
Go to DairyQueen.com or use the DQ App to find a nearby DQ restaurant on March 19.
