On Friday, Taylor Swift released “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,” a deluxe version of her 2025 album, featuring four brand-new tracks. Two days later, the music video for “Patient Zero” will premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Now, “The Life of a Showgirl” is far from my favorite album, but I’m hardly the type to turn down fresh music. Indeed, “It’s a good day to be a Swiftie” has almost become a stock phrase in my Swift-friendly group chats, thanks to the pop star’s peerless prolificacy.
