Did someone say “superhero fatigue”? Because after the record-breaking smash success of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” we don’t see any signs of audiences giving up on comic books just yet.
Since “The Dark Knight” became the first billion-dollar grosser to star a hero wearing a mask and tights, it’s been a steady stream of caped crusaders, super-powered beings, and web-slinging spider-men.
However, it’s still no easy feat to make seven figures at the box office. As Marvel and DC have seen over the last seven years since “Avengers: Endgame,” audiences won’t show up for just anything that’s ripped from the pages.
But “Brand New Day” proved that some masked vigilantes still have some juice. It made $1 billion in six days, proving that your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has worldwide appeal.
