Sam’s Club is opening a new location soon, marking the company’s 31st store in California and its eighth in Northern California.
The location will open Thursday, Sept. 24, in Lathrop, about 11 miles south of Stockton, the company confirmed to USA TODAY.
Sam’s Club Chief Operating Officer Steve Schrobilgen said the Lathrop store marks an “exciting milestone” for the company. Shoppers can use curbside pickup and delivery options to get items within an hour of placing an order.
Inside the New California Warehouse
The Lathrop location measures nearly 170,000 square feet and includes a full-service floral department. Members could attend a soft opening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT on Sept. 23, ahead of the 7:30 a.m. grand opening Sept. 24.
The grand opening includes a ribbon-cutting and a presentation of more than $30,000 in grant money to local nonprofits. Product sampling, giveaways and games are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24 through Sept. 26.
Membership Discount Available Through Sept. 30
As part of the grand opening, Sam’s Club is offering discounted memberships at the Lathrop, Sacramento and Concord locations through Sept. 30.
Customers can pay $50 for a yearlong Sam’s Club Plus membership, a $70 discount. A regular Club membership costs $25 under the offer, saving $35.
Sam’s Club Warehouses Set to Open
Sam’s Club has more than 600 clubs in the United States and Puerto Rico, the company said. The locations listed for a 2026 opening include:
- Lebanon, Tennessee — 600 Willard Hagan Drive (opened July 30)
- Lathrop, California — 16150 Golden Valley Parkway (opened Sept. 24)
- Visalia, California — 4545 S. Mooney Blvd. (date to be announced)
- Tomball, Texas — 13255 N. Grand Parkway W. (date to be announced)
