Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers has resigned from OpenAI’s board after new emails showing the extent of his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein surfaced.
Axios was first to report the news. OpenAI and Summers could not be reached for immediate comment.
Earlier this week, Summers said he would be stepping back from public life.
“I am deeply ashamed of my actions and recognize the pain they have caused,” he said in a statement to BI on Monday. “I take full responsibility for my misguided decision to continue communicating with Mr. Epstein.”
