Ford is recalling more than 840,000 Ford Bronco and Edge vehicles, according to a notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall for the two Ford models is due to a fault in the cars’ accessory protocol interface module, which the notice says can overheat and shut down, preventing the “rearview camera image from displaying as intended.”

“A rearview camera that fails to display an image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash,” the recall notice continued.

Here’s what to know about the recall.

What Ford Vehicles Are Affected by the Recall?

According to the notice, a total of 849,310 Ford vehicles are included in the recall:

  • 2021-2026 Ford Bronco
  • 2021-2024 Ford Edge

Owners of impacted vehicles are expected to receive notification letters on March 30, according to the notice. Impacted vehicles will receive software updates over the air or at a dealership free of charge.
